Welcome to ICMS 2017

International Conference on Molecular Spectroscopy (ICMS) is an important biennial meeting of spectroscopists, which will be held for the fourteenth time in September 2017 in Białka Tatrzańska, Poland.

The congress is devoted to different branches of molecular spectroscopy and their wide applications in chemistry, physics, biochemistry, biology, medicine, arts, earth and materials sciences. It covers all aspects of molecular spectroscopic techniques together with theoretical and computational methods of investigation of the structure and dynamics of molecular systems.

The Organizing Committee of the XIVth ICMS cordially invites all spectroscopists to take part in this Conference and looks forward to seeing you in Białka Tatrzańska in September 2017. We are sure that this meeting will be an exciting forum for all the participants to exchange their experience, present the latest results and to strengthen or start co-operation with colleagues from other countries.

The conference will take place in Białka Tatrzańska, in the picturesque Tatra Mountains. Białka Tatrzańska is located 20 km from Zakopane (near the international road E7), about 100 km from Kraków, Poland. Return transport between Kraków and Białka Tatrzańska will be provided by organizers.

Conference Programme

Three types of sessions will be held at XIVth ICMS: plenary, topic and poster sessions. Plenary sessions will include only a 45 minutes keynote speech and 30 minutes invited plenary lectures. Topic sessions will contain 20 minutes oral presentations. Please allow up to 5 min for discussions.

The Conference will cover the following topics:

  1. Spectroscopy in materials science
  2. Spectroscopy of biological systems
  3. Spectroscopy of surfaces and interfaces
  4. Spectroscopy of luminescence materials
  5. Spectroscopy in earth and environment science
  6. Spectroscopy in chemical analysis
  7. Resonance spectroscopy (NMR/EPR/ESR)
  8. Non-covalent interactions
  9. Theoretical and computational methods in molecular modeling

For oral contributions the conference halls will be equipped with computer, projector and pointer for Powerpoint presentations. If you need anything else for your presentation please contact the organizers.

Poster sessions will be arranged in the order corresponding to the topic sessions. The poster boards will be 0.90 m (width) 1.60 m (height), so A0 format is preferred. Adhesive tape will be provided by the organizers. Please make all writing and figures large enough that they can be read easily at a distance of at least 1 meter.

Conference Language

The official language of the conference is English. Therefore all the contributions should be submitted and presented in English. No simultaneous translation will be provided.

Exhibitions

Exhibitions of modern spectroscopic equipment as well as current literature will be held during the congress.

Social events

All registered Participants as well as the accompanying persons are eligible to take part in the conference dinner.

Additionally, a recreational trip, also included in the conference fee, will take place. All participants are kindly asked to have the proper clothing for such a trip.
